Bernard Bevans is a native of McLean's Town Grand Bahama, and has been putting anglers over bonefish for over the last 10 years. He has guided for the two lodges on the island and has been on his own for the last 5 years. His ability to spot bonefish is only superceeded by his ability to get his client's fly where it needs to be, whether the angler can see the fish or not. Bernard, aka Pittawe by his friends and clients, is an accomplished angler, fly tier, and waterman. His laid back, professional attitude will make sure that all of your needs are taken care of, and you will for sure be a better bonefish angler after spending time on the water with him.
Bernard, his wife Vanessa, and their two children live in McLeans Town, and are known for their generousity and devotion to God.
Bernard operates out of a 1999 Maverick Pathfinder tunnel hull boat that he trailers in and out of the water daily to ensure your safe return after a long day fishing. His boat is a technical shallow water boat, and is built to be poled in water too shallow for many other boats on the island.
BonefishingBahamas.com is not a resort or a lodge, and does not directly provide accommodations. We have special arrangements with local hotels, resorts, and guest houses to provide living arrangements for your stay on Grand Bahama Island. We feel that our packages may well be the best "Authentic Bahamian" bonefishing experience offered in all of the Bahamas. Wake up in a one or two bedroom guest house on the beach, less than 50 feet from the water, and literally have the chance to "Catch a bonefish in your underwear". Clean, safe, comfortable, and affordable lodging can be arranged, as well as a local private cook for all of your meals.
"I can't wait to get back on the water with Bernard." Marshall Demott flyanglersguide.com
"I look forward to Bernard poling me around for a change."

Stay for a day or stay for a month and experience the way bonefishing should be.
Bahamas Bonefishing Report
GRAND BAHAMA BONEFISHING REPORT 1-09 As the weather cools down, the bonefish, especially the larger ones will start to spend more time on the flats. The end of October officially marks the beginning of our fall fishing season as the first cool front of the year has come and gone and cooled some of the flats a little. We have been consistantly catching fish on the incoming tides near the south side of the island, as well as in the higher stages of the tide on the north side.
